Privacy Policy

First Steps keeps everything you enter on your own device, and nothing else. There is no account, no sign-in, and no server. Your pregnancy is yours alone.

What First Steps stores on your phone

So the app can remember things between visits, the following is saved in your device's local storage:

Your due date
Your baby's nickname
Your chosen colour theme
Which tasks you've completed, and any built-in tasks or labels you've chosen to remove
Tasks you create yourself
Labels you create yourself
Appointments you add — including any title, date, time, and notes you type
Checklists and checklist items you create or tick off
Your weekly progress summaries and app preferences (such as your current week and how tasks are sorted)

All of this stays on your phone.

What leaves your device

Nothing. First Steps does not send any of this information anywhere. There is no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising, and no third-party tracking of any kind. The app contains no third-party SDKs that collect data. We — the developer — never receive, see, or store anything you enter.

The only network activity around the app is what Apple's operating system does on its own, such as checking the App Store for updates. That happens between your device and Apple, and never includes anything you've entered into First Steps.

Deleting your data

You are always in control:

Open the Profile screen and tap Delete profile to erase all your data and return the app to its initial state.
Uninstalling First Steps removes everything that remains on your device.

Because nothing is stored off your device, there is nothing for us to delete on our end.

Children

First Steps is intended for expectant parents and is not directed at children under 13. As no data is collected or transmitted, no personal information is gathered from anyone who uses the app, whatever their age.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Any future feature that would change how data is handled (for example optional cloud backup) would be off by default and clearly explained before you turn it on.
